The Incorruptibles Released Today!

John Hornor Jacobs latest, The Incorruptibles, read by Steven Pacey, is released today!

The Incorruptibles

In the contested and unexplored territories at the edge of the Empire, a boat is making its laborious way upstream. Riding along the banks are the mercenaries hired to protect it – from raiders, bandits and, most of all, the stretchers, elf-like natives who kill any intruders into their territory. The mercenaries know this is dangerous, deadly work. But it is what they do.

In the boat the drunk governor of the territories and his sons and daughters make merry. They believe that their status makes them untouchable. They are wrong. And with them is a mysterious, beautiful young woman, who is the key to peace between warring nations and survival for the Empire.

When a callow mercenary saves the life of the Governor on an ill-fated hunting party, the two groups are thrown together. For Fisk and Shoe – two tough, honourable mercenaries surrounded by corruption, who know they can always and only rely on each other – their young companion appears to be playing with fire. The nobles have the power, and crossing them is always risky. And although love is a wonderful thing, sometimes the best decision is to walk away. Because no matter how untouchable or deadly you may be, the stretchers have other plans.

Scimitar Recording

blakes7

It’s been a Blake’s 7 few days. On Friday, I was in studio with Paul Darrow, Michael Keating, Jan Chappell, Steven Pacey, Tom Chadbon, Alastair Lock and more recording Scimitar, the first in Big Finish’s new run of full cast plays. There was a great atmosphere in the green room as the cast shared jokes and memories, as well as saving the galaxy when they got behind the mic, of course.

Cavan Scott’s BLOG, 27 July, 2014.

Sounds like the recording of Scimitar is going well! Steven continues recording this week.

Blake’s 7 Classic Audio Series 2

blakes7

Steven Pacey will once again reprise his role as Del Tarrant in a forthcoming 6-part series of Classic Audio Adventures to be released by Big Finish. The first in the series, Scimitar, will be available in November 2014, with an additional title being added every month following.

Steven has been recording the series this week.

Press Release from Big Finish, 10 June 2014.

Big Finish and B7 Media are proud to announce that the crew of the Liberator will return later this year for another series of classic full-cast adventures.

Series Two of Blake’s 7: The Classic Audio Adventures will launch in November 2014 and is set during the third season of the cult BBC TV series. The six audio dramas will star Paul Darrow, Steven Pacey, Jan Chappell, Michael Keating and Tom Chadbon, all reprising their roles once again.

With one of their own missing, Avon’s band of rebels begins a search that will lead them to encounter cult members, ghosts and voices from the past.

Cavan Scott, producer of Blake’s 7 for Big Finish Productions, says: “We’re thrilled with the response the first series of the Classic Audio Adventures has received. This second series of full cast audio dramas will see Avon, Tarrant, Cally, Vila and new crew member Del Grant coming to terms with a changing universe as they search for their missing crewmate, Dayna.”

Andrew Mark Sewell, Executive Producer of Blake’s 7 for B7 Media, says: “The audience and critical reaction for these classic audio adventures is a tribute to the writing, performances and production values, which perfectly recapture the classic era of Blake’s 7. We’re delighted to welcome our family of rebels back for a second season of gripping audio adventures.”

The second series of Blake’s 7 The Classic Audio Adventures kicks off with Scimitar by Trevor Baxendale in November, and is available to pre-order now at £10.99 for a single CD and £8.99 for download. Subscriptions are also available for all six releases.

Other writers in the series include George Mann, Jacqueline Rayner, Iain McLaughlin, Steve Lyons and Justin Richards.

Dark Souls II

The long awaited sequel to Dark Souls, Dark Souls II was finally released in March 2014 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and April 2014 for Microsoft Windows. Gamers will already know that this role-playing, hack and slash game was universally acclaimed on its release. Reviews for Dark Souls II have praised its difficulty, atmosphere, and visuals.

What you may not know is that Steven Pacey voices the Rat King!
Rat King

A most noble being. Detests humankind and sees them as nothing but lying vermin. Long ago, an agreement was reached between humans and rats. Humanity was given dominion over the land above, and anything the light didn’t touch was deemed the rats’ domain. For a time, there was peace. However, as time went on humans lost sight of what really mattered, and their insatiable greed eventually led to bigger and grander explorations underground, causing many an innocent rat to die in the process. The King is determined to exact revenge on his foes in the overworld for betraying his trust and defiling the rats’ sacred ground.
